KIM DE SYLVA

Kim de Sylva

I was born in South Africa and immigrated to England in 2002.

In 2014, I remarried a Dutchman, who had been living in the UK for 34 years. After selling his business, we decided to relocate to the Netherlands. We chose Woudsend as we wanted a change in lifestyle and loved what Friesland has to offer - boating, sailing, hiking etc.
We love living on the water and spend many hours enjoying the outdoors.

Together we have 4 grown-up children, 2 daughters living in Australia and another daughter and son in the UK.
I was always involved in teaching in South Africa - where I spent many years teaching pre-schoolers and later running an English an Maths in my Kumon Learning Centre. Watching children progress and grow as a result of your input - is one of the big attractions and joys of teaching.

I was delighted when asked by Gosse to help the children of Woudsend with their English.
